Dustin Poirer Selling UFC Fight Kit For Noble Cause
Dustin Poirer will be selling his UFC Fight kit from his upcoming fight with Anthony Pettis with all proceeds going to the family of fallen police officer.
Dustin Poirier's nickname may be "Diamond," but his heart is full of gold as we learned on Monday night.
The American Top Team product, who faces Anthony Pettis on Nov. 11 at UFC Fight Night 120 in Fairfax, Virginia, announced on Facebook he will be donating his entire UFC Fight Kit purse to raise money for the family of a police officer killed in the line of duty in Lafeyette, Louisiana, this month.
Poirier (21-5, one no-contest) is coming off a no-contest result against former lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez at UFC 211 in May. Rather than rebook the controversial fight, the UFC opted to pair Alvarez opposite Justin Gaethje on season 26 of "The Ultimate Fighter."
The 28-year-old Poirier has won five of his past seven showings inside the Octagon.
Pettis, on the other hand, has found success in just two of his last six fights and is coming off a unanimous decision victory over Jim Miller at UFC 213 in July. The former lightweight champion is looking for back-to-back wins for the first time since December 2014.
Make sure to follow Poirier on Twitter if you're interested in ordering his fight kit.
