Four Title Fights Bring The Noise At Cage Wars 34

There shall be ruckus aplenty this weekend at Cage Wars 34.

Upstate New York is quickly building a name for itself on the regional scene, and the Cage Wars promotion is a big part of the movement. Saturday night’s lineup in Albany, NY, features three title fights and the rare super heavyweight tilt between fighters making their respective debuts.

If that’s not worth getting excited about, let’s take a closer look at the action streaming live and exclusively on FloCombat.

Four Championship Tilts

The main event on the card features a featherweight scrap for amateur gold as New York’s own Chris Disonell takes on Canada’s Matvei Skvortsov.

The man aptly nicknamed “Showbiz Diz” has won five consecutive bouts, with all but one of those victories coming by way of finish. For a fighter competing below the 155-pound mark to be able to finish fights at such an extraordinary clip, there’s no debating why there is a buzz building around him.

The same can be said for Skvortsov as well.

The 21-year-old has won all but one of his six showings inside the cage. Furthermore, all but one of his five victories have come by way of submission. Skvortsov likes to get the action to the ground and put his opposition away, and with Disonell preferring to use his hands to pound out the stoppage, fight fans will be in for an interesting clash of styles in the card’s main event.

In other title action a battle of unbeatens between Kenny Gordon and Rob Coman takes place for the amateur lightweight belt, while Ben Horton and Chris Buckley will also scrap it out for the right to claim welterweight gold on the card. Mike Martinez and Nequoyah Sethi round out the championship slate as they battle for bantamweight gold.

Four title fights on an amateur card are hard to find, but that’s what you’re going to see at Cage Wars 34.

Battle of the Biggins

Fight fans are used to seeing heavyweight clashes inside the cage, but when things travel north of the 265-pound limit the leather gets heavier and more dangerous.

On Saturday night in Albany, two giants will step into the cage as Travis Streeter and Rob Parker Jr. will square up and get to work. Both men are making their respective amateur debuts so anything and everything has a chance of happening once things go live.

There's one certainty when you have two men of this size throwing down... someone will be hitting the canvas before the final bell.
