Dustin Poirier Sends Powerful Message In Wake Of Las Vegas Tragedy
UFC lightweight contender Dustin Poirier shared a heartfelt message in the aftermath of tragedy in Las Vegas.
Dustin Poirier has never been one to shy away from the reality of just how harsh the world can be.
Growing up in the hard-knock struggle that exists south of the poverty line in Lafayette, Louisiana, Poirier's earliest views of the world came with rough edges. The world he saw outside his front door very rarely leaned toward the kind side, and this led to the future UFC lightweight developing a mindset in which survival was top priority. The steps taken made him a fighter in both literal and figurative senses, and enduring a tough upbringing eventually prepared him for a career in the fight game.
Nevertheless, the world outside is ever-changing, and Poirier's outlook on life took a drastic shift last year when he became the father of a healthy and beautiful baby girl.

Once Parker Poirier arrived to the world, the perennial contender's focus shifted to one in which his daughter's protection, prosperity, and education is all that truly matters. Poirier believes he's a better man because of it, and no place was this more clear than his recent heartfelt post to Instagram on Monday afternoon.
In the aftermath of the Las Vegas tragedy that left more than 50 dead and three times that number wounded, Poirier dug down to send positive vibes into a world desperately in need of such things. With the world his daughter will inherit on his mind, Poirier gave us all something to think about in one sincere and poignant turn.
