Promotional Debut Filled With Exciting Scraps For Proelium 1
Undisputed Promotions presents Proelium MMA 1 live Saturday, Sept. 9, on FloCombat.

South Carolina hasn't historically been the first state that comes to mind in the landscape of regional MMA, but that narrative is steadily changing.
With exciting talents such as UFC welterweight contender Stephen "Wonderboy" Thompson and UFC flyweight Justin "Tank" Scoggins putting on highly skilled and ultra-exciting performances inside the UFC Octagon, South Carolinians have proven they are on the verge of turning the MMA world upside down. On Saturday night in Columbia, SC, Undisputed Promotions is putting on its first-ever event, Proelium MMA 1.
The 14-fight card -- which is streaming live at 6 PM ET, exclusively on FloCombat -- features some great prospects from not only the state of South Carolina but also from all over the Southeast region.

On Saturday night, it'll be a homecoming for South Carolina's Tim Goodwin, who looks to make it two wins in a row when he takes on a very tough 13-fight veteran in Chris Thorne.
Coming off of a 34-second demolition of Craig Yerkey, the 34-year old Goodwin has been competing professionally in MMA for over a decade.
Hollywood, Florida's Thorne will try to spoil the party and in the process snap a three-fight skid. These two bantamweights have never been ones to shy away from violence, and there's no doubt that headlining Undisputed Promotion's debut MMA event will give them extra motivation to put on a show.
In the night's co-main event, flyweight finishers will travel south of the 125-pound division to compete in a (somewhat rare) men's strawweight bout.
Despite both men competing at the ultra-lightweight class, Michael Whaley and Chancey Wilson certainly have fight-finishing abilities. In a card full of exciting matchups, Whaley and Wilson seem to be the front-runners to partake in the "Fight of the Night." With speed, explosiveness, heavy hands, and slick submission abilities, neither man has any intentions in sending the crowd home disappointed.
Tennessee's Whaley has only gone to a decision once in his seven pro bouts, whereas his opponent, Wilson, hasn't seen the second round in either of his professional bouts so far.
In a matchup of the two biggest men at Proelium MMA 1, Tebaris Gordon and Dustin Dyer will square off in what may be the most interesting fight of the night on paper.
Gordon, nicknamed "Boom," burst onto the national MMA scene in just his second professional bout, when he made quick work of Chandler Cole at LFA 17 in July. The bout aired nationally on AXS TV and helped "Boom" become a prospect to watch in the heavyweight division.
His opponent, Dyer, also steps into the cage for just his third time. Dyer is coming off of a big win in the super heavyweight division over Sam Promanee this past July at Valor Fights: Worlds Collide.
Nicknamed "D-Train" for the destruction he brings to the cage, Georgia's Dyer will look to rise above the .500 mark against Gordon.
