Our Prospect of the Month for August is J.P. Saint Louis, who earned an impressive first-round submission victory over Combat Club standout Tyler Ray at LFA 19 on Aug. 18 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

Saint Louis (2-1) needed just 1:44 to earn the first submission victory of his career and his first win since October 2015. FloCombat subscribers will remember his opponent Ray for his first-round submission win at LFA: Sioux Falls Fight Night 1 back in April. The loss to Saint Louis was Ray's first of his career and an impressive notch on Saint Louis' resume.

Saint Louis made his amateur debut in April 2012 and racked up three straight stoppage victories, including a submission victory over Jonathan Liggans in September 2013 to capture the OO Fights amateur middleweight title.

From there, the Milwaukee native made his professional debut in October 2015, notching a first-round TKO victory over Brandon Mason at Strike Off 6.

The lone blemish on Saint Louis' resume was a unanimous decision setback to Tim Hiley at Pure FC 2 in November 2015. Injuries and canceled matchups would keep him on the sidelines up until this year, when he finally proved his doubters wrong.

Standing 5-foot-10 with a 72.5-inch reach, Saint Louis is solid both on the feet and on the mat and can pose a lot of problems for his opponents.
