WATCH: Fighter Chokes Referee At KOP 54
Fighter gets knocked out then attacks the referee with a rear-naked choke.

The luck of the Irish certainly was not shining on Michigan's Joe Nehm this past weekend, as he was able to pull off a submission and still lose his bout.
Let us explain.
After get knocked out with punches by Ryan Brink in their lightweight matchup at KnockOut Promotions (KOP) 54, Nehm pulled a double leg on the referee, mounted his back and attempted to lock in a rear-naked choke of sorts. Nehm even managed to roll through the referee's attempt to break the choke, in an attempt to finish the submission.
Corner men and officials were able to break up the situation before any serious harm could be done.
Nehm was clearly still groggy when the choke was broken and it's unlikely he had any idea what was happening at that point.
With the loss, Nehm's record falls to 1-3 as a professional, with an 0-3 record in KOP. Brink moves his record to 2-1.
No word yet on if Nehm tried to submit anyone else backstage.
