Lauren Murphy Throws Fire and Ice at Jessica Eye
UFC women's bantamweight Lauren Murphy wants to fight Jessica Eye.
Coming from the frozen vast expanse that is Alaska put ice water in Lauren Murphy's veins just as working as a firefighter battling blazes that threatened to ravage the natural forests outside Anchorage prepared her to work with raging flames. When you mix her love for the toe-to-toe scrap into the equation, it becomes clear Murphy is capable of handling anything that comes her way.
While The MMA Lab product's time in the UFC hasn't been free of setbacks, Murphy is ready to turn things around in a big way. The 33-year-old bantamweight has her sights set on a matchup with Jessica Eye, and she'll do whatever it takes to get the Cleveland native to sign on the dotted line. The two women have been trading barbs on social media for months, and Murphy wants nothing more than for UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby to book the bout with Eye.
In a recent interview with FloCombat during the crew's stop in Phoenix for the #FCRoadTrip, Murphy broke down her motivations to face the rangy striker in addition to a buffet of goodness and hilarity from her time in mixed martial arts. Murphy also went deep into her background and shed some light on the upbringing that prepared her for a career of face-punching and armbars inside the cage.
Sit back. Grab the popcorn and enjoy Lauren Murphy in full-tilt boogie mode.
