KSW boasts big plans for 2017.

None, perhaps, is any bigger than the show the promotion has planned for May 27.

The event will take place at Poland's National Stadium (PGE Narodowy) in Warsaw. The PGE Narodowy is one of the biggest arenas in Europe and is the home stadium of the Polish national soccer team and the host of various music concerts and sporting events.

On May 27, KSW will become the first ever mixed martial arts organization to bring an event to the arena, which can host up to 60,000 spectators. It should easily be the biggest MMA event ever held in Poland, and KSW is stacking the card high with title fights.

One KSW champion announced for the event already is Marcin Wrzosek, aka "The Polish Zombie." Wrzosek is the current KSW featherweight champion, having defeated Artur Sowinski back at KSW 37 in December. The champion is looking forward to defending his belt for the first time, and speaking earlier this week, he said he was already counting down the days until May 27.

"Yes, everything is all official now, and I'm very excited," Wrzosek told FloCombat in an exclusive interview. "To be honest with you, I was always expecting to be on that card.

"It's a great privilege to be one of main events on such a massive show, and when I step in the cage in May, no will be able to stop me retaining my title."

The only fight currently announced for the card is the heavyweight title fighting that pits new champion Fernando Rodrigues Jr. against Polish heavyweight Marcin Rozalski. Wrzosek is still yet to learn who his opponent will be on the night, though if he has his own way, it will be an American he previously encountered back in his one and only fight in the UFC.

"[Julian] Erosa--I want Erosa," Wrzosek said. "As I've said many times before, I want my rematch with Julian Erosa. I know he didn't win our first match, and deep down, he knows he didn't win it either.

"He's the guy. Yes, he's the guy I want for my first title defense, and it would be a dream matchup for me. I really hope we can make this fight happen. I want to prove to everyone that I'm the better man. I want my revenge."

Having won the title six weeks ago, Wrzosek has been enjoying life as the champion of Poland's premier MMA promotion and reveling in the glory of being a titleholder. Since winning the belt, he's started a new venture with his head coach at Shark Top Team, and he's not missed out on the opportunity to point out his champion status.

"The Champ and The Coach is a venture that I am working on with my longtime coach Lukasz Zaborowski," Wrzosek said. "We analyze fights, talk all things MMA-related and mix in a bit of our sick humor.

"We post our videos on our Facebook page, so anyone can watch them. This is no big effort for us. This is what we do every day anyway. The difference is now we are just recording it and letting the whole world see."

While he may have one or two projects on the go, Wrzosek's No. 1 focus remains on keeping his title and defending it in exciting fashion. KSW's kingpin featherweight is promising a big 2017, and his fights are not ones you will want to miss if he lives up to his promises.

"I know I'm going to hold this belt for a long time, trust me," Wrzosek said. "My goal is to defend my title at least twice this year and leave my opponents unconscious and regretting they had the thought they can hang in there with me.

"May 27 will be a great night for KSW, but also for me. I'm going to show everyone that I'm one of the best featherweights in the world, and I'm going to do it in front of 60,000 people--no one can stop me."
