FloBoxing returns this week with yet another card filled with exciting young fighters from Germany. Sauerland, the biggest promoter in the country, will be featuring several high-level European prospects in major career tests and we'll be streaming the action live from start to finish.
The headliners are the Gevor Brothers; one a cruiserweight, the other a light heavyweight. Neither has tasted defeat as a pro, and both carry the last name of a former world title challenger with them into battle.
Their trainer and stepfather, Khoren Gevor, competed three times for world title belts, but came up short each time. Now with his Armenian stepsons, Abel and Noel (both adopted his last name), Gevor hopes to guide them to far greater glories.

Noel Gevor is the proper headliner. He's 21-0 and ranked second in the world, according to the WBO. Unlike many of the big swinging, all-action cruiserweights who have dominated the European scene, Noel boxes more like a 200-pound Vanes Martirosyan. He has fast hands, a solid defense, and a good selection of punches.
Like Vanes, he isn't necessarily a mover and seems to be someone who could be dragged into a slugfest. The Scotsman he fights, Stephen "The Monster" Simmons, is a candidate for precisely that sort of bout. At 15-1 with seven KOs, Simmons has at least fought decent competition at the UK domestic level. He's simplistic: flat-footed, plodding, forward moving, high guard, little head movement. However, if Gevor chooses to pull straight back or leave his hands down, Simmons is capable of capitalizing on it and producing problems for the German-Armenian.
Noel's younger brother Abel Gevor will be in a support fight opposite Norway's Alexander Hagen (9-1, three KOs). Abel seems a little less interested in walking his man down and against far lesser opposition almost always chooses to work off the back foot and counter.
Hagen is a decent-sized light heavyweight and should be expected to take the lead in most engagements in the fight. Gevor doesn't do anything significantly wrong in a technical sense, while Hagen tends to push the jab and be a bit sloppy with his hand placement when he goes on offense. Both of these facts should help give Abel numerous opportunities to counter punch effectively en route to a decision win.
