Miesha Tate Thinks Amanda Nunes Could Be Huge Problem for Ronda Rousey

Miesha Tate may have lost her UFC bantamweight title at UFC 200, but that doesn't stop her from being asked what she makes of what is happening at the top of the division.
Speaking on the MMA Hour earlier this week, Tate shared her thoughts on current champion Amanda Nunes appearing to sit out and wait for the return of Ronda Rousey at UFC 207 on December 30.
"My personal opinion is that as the champion, you shouldn't wait for people. You should step up when you should, and you should stay busy," Tate said. "But, it's [Nunes'] choice and it's her life and she's probably being advised to wait.
"You can't blame the girl. It's going to be a big fight, a big money fight for her financially and career-wise. It makes sense from the political side to wait, but you got to balance that up. Are you in it for the smart thing? Or are you passionate, driven and want to do what the fighter would want to do. It's not wrong either way, but personally what I think is you should stay busy and prove that you're the champion and why you are the champion."
The former champion then gave her opinion on what she made of Rousey coming back and getting an immediate title shot. Despite her known personal issues with Rousey, Tate gave a diplomatic point of view.
"That's what it was always built up to be the entire time, so I just never thought any differently," Tate said. "A long layoff can definitely have some adverse effects on getting back in there with the best of the best, but I guess we will see how it all plays out."
Having been defeated by Nunes back in July and Rousey twice previously, Tate is in a good position to paint the picture of how a fight might go between the two of them. Suffice to say, she implied that it would be a good fight, but that her fellow American could find Nunes tough to handle if she doesn't come back at her best.
"I think there are so many weird variables," Tate said. "It's really hard to say, because who knows what we are going to get out of Ronda when she comes back. If she comes back the best version of herself then I'm picking Ronda, but if she comes back with like a half-assed mentality and like I have to do this one time, maybe she is still punch shy like against Holly.
"Obviously, we saw Amanda has some incredible, incredible power in her right hand. If she hits Ronda with one of those, I could see it being a huge problem for Ronda--a huge, huge problem. I just don't know what we will get with Ronda. I know what we will get with Amanda but just not Ronda."
