Austin Meese, the cousin of UFC bantamweight Cody Garbrandt, returns to action at Caged Madness 45’s amateur MMA card. Meese will headline against TJ Rigel on a card that showcases Ohio’s top amateur prospects. The fights start at 6 p.m. CDT.

Xtreme Fight League 336 — Oct. 1, Tulsa, OK

Both kickboxing and MMA take center stage at Xtreme Fight Night 336. In the MMA main event, former pro wrestler Brandon Groom fights for the middleweight title against champion Canaan Grigsby. In the kickboxing headliner, the super-heavyweight champion belt is on the line with Haze Wilson vs. Roy Boughton. The action starts at 7 p.m. CDT.

Evolution Fighting Championships 4 — Oct. 1, Wichita, KS

EFC 4 brings undefeated middleweight prospect Chris Harris (7-0) against veteran Wayman Carter (6-3) Also, featured on the card is rising 155 pounder Thai Clark (6-0). This pro-am MMA and kickboxing event starts at 7 p.m. CDT.

European Fighting Challenge 1 — Oct. 1, Espoo, Finland

European Fighting Challenge debuts with a stacked card filled with top European talent. The event is headlined by UFC veterans Tom Niimiaki vs Jonathan Brookins at 145 pounds. Other UFC veterans on the card include Alan Omer and Andreas Stahl. The live streaming starts early in the morning at 5 a.m. CDT.

Nike Tournament of Champions — Sept. 30 - Oct. 1, Phoenix, AZ
Elite high school volleyball teams from all over the nation gather in Phoenix for one of the toughest tournaments of the season. There will be 80 teams competing and travel from as far as South Carolina, Florida, New York, Alaska, Kentucky, and California. The tournament starts 2 p.m. CDT Friday and the Championship game is expected to begin Saturday at 8:45 p.m. CDT. WATCH LIVE

PGF Ultimate Softball Challenge — Sept. 30 - Oct. 2, Salinas, CA

Thirty-six of the best softball teams on the west coast compete for a chance to win a paid entry to next year’s PGF National Championships. Returning champions So Cal Choppers-Fausett (14U and 18U) and So Cal A’s-McNee (16U) will all be competing. Tournament play begins 7 a.m. CDT and championship games are expected to start at 4 p.m. CDT Sunday.

ITA DIII Men’s and Women’s West Regional — Sept. 30 - Oct. 2, Claremont, CA

The best Division III college tennis doubles and singles players on the west coast compete with the hopes of advancing to the ITA Championship tournament. Last year’s champions represented Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, UC Santa Cruz and this year’s host school, Pomona Pitzer. The matches begin at 10:45 CDT a.m.

Journeyman Fall Classic — Oct. 1 - 2, Schenectady, NY

Billed as the prequel to the Super 32 Challenge, Journeyman Fall Classic tournament features the best high school wrestlers on the east coast. This year the ‘Over-Flo Challenge’ gives wrestlers the chance to qualify for the main tournament the day before.

Who’s # 1 - Snake Pit — Oct. 2, Bethlehem, PA

Historic Grace Hall at Lehigh University once again hosts the best high school dual meet in the nation. The best high school wrestlers from around the country will gather to determine who’s the best in their weight class. The full night of matches includes No. 1 David Carr vs. No. 2 Cam McCoy, No. 1 Mikey Labriola vs. No. 3 Travis Wittlake, as well as a battle between former NCAA champions Cody Brewer vs. Tony Ramos.

Grand Fight Night Hinckley — Oct. 1, Hinckley, MN

Up-and-coming cruiserweight prospect Brian Howard (11-1) takes on Minneapolis’ Phil Williams (15-8-2) in the main event in this exciting all-pro card. In the co-main event, middleweights George Carter Jr. and Colby Courter are scheduled to throw down. The first fights are set to start at 7 p.m. CDT.

WBA World Light-Heavyweight Championship — Oct. 1, Neubrandenburg, Germany

WBA light-heavyweight champion, Juergen Braehmer will attempt to defend his belt against former WBO light-heavyweight champion Nathan Cleverly. The pair was supposed to fight in 2011 when Braehmer was the WBO champion, but he was forced to vacate the title after injury.

Pan Jiu-Jitsu NoGi IBJJF Championship — Oct. 1, Flushing, NY

Jiu Jitsu stars Dillon Danis, Gianni Grippo, Joao Miyao and many other elite grapplers are set to compete at the eighth annual Pan NoGi Championships. Last year’s champions included Garry Tonon, Matheus Diniz and Otavio Sousa.
