Luis Santos Victorious at ONE: Titles and Titans
'ONE: Titles and Titans' took place at the Jakarta Convention Centre in Indonesia earlier today and it featured a main event bout between Luis 'Sapo' Santos and Igor Svirid.

After a highly entertaining undercard that was packed full of first round finishes, Santos and Svirid clashed with a potential title shot at ONE Championship Ben Askren on the line.

Santos let his intentions known early and let fly with two head kicks that narrowly missed their mark. Svirid circled on the outside looking to counter the Brazilian as he stalked his man down looking like he was going to pull the trigger any second.

After two minutes of continuous circling and neither fighter engaging, the referee paused the fight and warned both fighters for their lack of action. With the crowd growing restless the two continued to ignore their heckling and continued as they started. After four minutes of no action, both fighters were issued a yellow card meaning their respective fight purses were instantly reduced 10%.

Santos landed a leg kick with twenty seconds to go but the round fizzled out with only six shots landed in total.

The second round opened with a similar pattern of feinting and shuffling. The referee again called for more action, but the fighters persisted with their cautious approaches as the crowd yelled in English 'fight, fight, fight'.  After two minutes of the second round, Svirid received his second yellow card resulting in another 10% deduction of his fight purse.

The crowd at this point was going hysterical with frustration and for good reason. With 10 seconds left in the second round, Santos hit a leg kick that took away Svirid's base temporarily but he couldn't capitalize. The round finished with the crowd on their feet booing both fighters back to their corner.

After 10 minutes of little to no action, the third round was anything but. Santos opened with a few leg kicks and then managed to get a takedown on Svirid. Santos then broke through the guard of Svirid with some elbows and cut him on the bridge of the nose causing blood to stream down his face. Santos then worked his way to the back of Svirid, but he was unable to fully sink in the rear-naked choke and the fight went back to the feet.

After a brief pause to clear up Svirid's cut, Santos was caught with a punch and Svirid looked for the upset victory as he poured on ground and pound with the Brazilian on his back. Santos managed to cover up as Svirid threw punches in from all angles. Luckily for Santos, the clock played out with Svirid in a dominant position but unable to finish.

After a lackluster opening two rounds ,and one crazy action-packed final round, the fight went to the judges for the decision. All three judges scored the contest unanimously for Santos.

This win for Santos could now set up a rematch with Ben Askren later in the year.
