Warrior Nation Fight Series returns to do battle in Sandusky, Ohio, on Saturday, Aug. 20, and if there's one thing this promotion delivers, it's fight-ending finishes.
Thirteen amateur fights are slated for Warrior Nation Fight Series 40: Summer Slugfest, and the card is a promising one, stacked with the best new talent from the midwest.
Here are three reasons to watch Warrior Nation Fight Series 40 LIVE on FloCombat starting at 6:30 p.m. CDT.
Richie Webber throws down in the main event of Warrior Nation Fight Series 40 for the promotion's middleweight title, but the the belt itself isn't the most important aspect in this fight for him.
Webber (3-0) is fighting with a heavy heart, because just two years ago he overdosed on heroin and lost three close friends and his girlfriend to drug addiction.
"It's crazy how life works, because the exact day, Aug. 20, that I have my first title fight will be exactly two years since my last overdose on heroin," Webber told BluegrassMMA.com. "I had to be hit with Narcan twice, and they didn't think I would make it."
The 24-year-old fighter used MMA as an avenue to remain clean and sober, and now all three of Webber's wins have come by stoppage. His opponent Saturday is a tough test. Matt Sieger is also undefeated at 2-0, with both wins coming by knockout.
Will Webber remain undefeated, or will Sieger spoil the show? Tune into FloCombat Saturday night to find out.
If the promotional history of Warrior Nation Fight Series is any indication, you'll be in for a night of ferocious finishes this Saturday night.
At its previous event, Warrior Nation Fight Series 39, only one fight out of nine went to a decision. Yes, you read that right: 88 percent of the fights ended with a stoppage!
Prior to Warrior Nation Fight Series 39, at the promotion's Sandusky Showdown 2 event, 11 out of 12 fights were won with either a submission or knockout. So at Warrior Nation Fight Series 40, you're all but guaranteed a fun night of fights.
These fighters may not be at the professional level just yet, but they always put on a show. What more could you ask for?
There's just a different kind of appeal to when it comes to amateur heavyweight fights. You probably won't see the kind of high-velocity, spinning and whirling technique that was showcased at UFC Fight Night Salt Lake City: Alex Caceres vs Yair Rodriguez, but it's okay to admit that watching the big men swing wild bungalows is a guilty pleasure.
At Warrior Nation Fight Series 40, heavyweights Jonathan Martin (1-1) and newcomer Cory Burch are set to throw down. If Martin's submission victory in his last fight is any proof, this matchup will be fireworks.
Unlike other events, the night's first two bouts feature some of the most experienced fighters on the card. Leading off, Milo Roberts (3-1) takes on Dakota Day (2-1), then Treg Wells (8-7) faces Kyle Booth (4-5).
The two matchups are slated so early because Roberts and Wells were mandated to work this same night. Nothing says hard work and dedication to the sport and your job by doing both on the same night.
So, if you want to watch some of the card's best fighters, you'll have to fire up your FloPRO accounts early for Warrior Nation Fight Series 40 at 6:30 p.m. CDT.
