Three Fights Not to Miss This Weekend in US, Europe and Asia
FloCombat provides a guide of can't miss action in MMA this weekend from around the globe.
The UFC may be off for one more weekend, but there is still plenty of great action to feed your mixed martial arts cravings. Here are three scraps you won't want to miss and how to check them out!
Exclusively live on FloCombat, FloPro users will be able to tune into Valor Fights 36 which is taking place in Gatlinburg, Tennessee starting at 4:30pm CST on Saturday.
The main event features the undefeated middleweight prospect Sid Wheeler attempting to take his record to 6-0 when he faces Roufusport veteran Gerald Meerschaert (22-8) in a 200-pound catchweight bout.
Wheeler was originally scheduled to fight UFC veteran, Joe Riggs, however, Riggs suffered a last minute injury and was forced out of the fight. Meerschaert may have been brought in to challenge Wheeler on short notice, but he will have an experience advantage over the much greener Wheeler.
Will the young buck Wheeler continue his ascent to stardom? Or will the wily veteran Meercharet upset the odds? Find out on FloCombat tomorrow--sign up HERE.
If you fancy an early Saturday morning then ONE: Heroes Of The World is a card you don't want to miss.
The event is headlined by a flyweight interim title fight between Adriano Moraes and Tilek Batyrov but one of the undercard bouts has the potential to steal the headlines with 18-year-old Christian Lee and Martin Nguyen facing off in featherweight action.
This fight promises fireworks with both fighters known for the high pace, standup fighting styles. Lee will be looking to take his unbeaten record to 6-0 while former title challenger Nguyen will be looking to silence the hype surrounding the younger Lee sibling and put himself back in contention for a title shot at 145-pounds.
This should be a barnburner and a fight not to take your eyes off on Saturday morning. The event will be streamed live on the ONE Championship website priced at $9.99.
If you find yourself twiddling thumbs between the conclusion of ONE: Heroes Of The World and the start of Valor Fights 36, you can fill the gap by watching Tanko FC 2016 which is a card taking place in Manchester, England.
Starting at midday CST, the undercard will host plenty of up and coming English talent while the main event will feature former UFC lightweight Brendan Loughnane taking on his bitter local rival Eden Newton.
The pick of the fights on the card, however, is expected to be Saul Rogers vs Andre Winner. Rogers was last seen competing on The Ultimate Fighter 22 series where after four straight wins inside the house he made it to the final. Unfortunately for Rogers, he had visa issues which kept him out of the final and he's been exiled from the UFC ever since.
Rogers will be looking to make a winning return to action but Winner will be no walkover given his experience. You can watch Tanko FC live onTheSPORTBible Facebook page.
