The UFC rolled into Salt Lake City last evening for UFC Fight Night 92 which was held at the Vivint Smart Home Arena. The card lacked any major star names and for the most part, it lacked excitement until the main event hit the Octagon.

In the main event, high-flying Mexican Yair Rodriguez faced American Alex Caceres in a featherweight contest scheduled to go five, five minutes rounds.

Prior to the fight, fans were billing this as a battle of two high-flying flashy strikers and Rodriguez and Caceres didn't fail to live up to the hype.

Straight from the outset, Rodriguez relentlessly went after Caceres with a wide variety of different kicks. The Mexican marched forward at any given opportunity to unload kicks to both head and body as Caceres did he best to duck, weave and evade his onslaught.

Rodriguez clearly had the better of both rounds one and two but in the third, his output began to noticeably slow as Caceres began to box his way in and land some stiff shots.

The Mexican then began to mix up his strikes more in the fourth round but Caceres continued to counter well, landing some hard hooks as Rodriguez came in from distance in what was another close five minutes.

In the final round, both men looked to impress the judges as Rodriguez again came out fast looking to land kicks. Rodriguez landed two hard looking knees coming out of a clinch but then the fight got taken to the floor as both men took the other down and failed to keep them there.

The final two minutes saw both men attack with caution and throw single shot punches and kicks. The fight ended as it started with Rodriguez attempting a crazy flying bicycle kick which Caceres blocked with ease.

After twenty-five minutes the fight headed to the scorecards and predictably it was close. Rodriguez got the nod for a split decision victory 46-49, 48-47, 48-47.

Following the culmination of the headline bout, UFC ‎Vice President of Public Relations & Athlete Marketing Development, Dave Sholler, announced a live gate of $481,033 and an attendance of 6,689
