Poirier (20-4), a Louisiana native, will enter this bout riding a four fight win streak as a member of the lightweight division. He most recently finished Bobby Green with strikes at UFC 199 in June. Prior to this performance, Poirier walked away with bloody decision over Irishman Joe Duffy at UFC 195 in January. Poirier previously competed as a member of the UFC's featherweight division, earning a record of 8-3, before making the jump up to 155-pounds.

Johnson (16-10), a Blackzillians product, will be looking to get back into the win column after suffering decision losses to Nate Diaz and Beneil Dariush in his two most recent contests. Prior to these setbacks, Johnson rattled off four straight wins over Edson Barboza, Melvin Guillard, Gleison Tibau and Joe Lauzon.

No other bouts have been announced on the card.
