Fortune Favors the Bold at FCFF
By Jose Youngs
Both men touched gloves before immediately trading leather in the center of the cage. After a quick flurry, both men separate before Fortune pressed the action in the cage. With his opponent working furiously for the takedown, York reversed position and unloaded with a barrage of punches and knees.
Withstanding the onslaught, Fortune escapes damage with takedown against the fence to close out a wild opening frame.
Fortune opens up the second Rd. with a series of body kicks before knocking York down to the canvas. After a brief pause from the ref to check out a cut on York's forehead, Fortune continued to work his opponent from the top. While York was eventually able to make his way back to his feet, an ill advised hip toss allowed Fortune to secure full mount. With York at his mercy, Fortune rained blows down upon his downed opponent's skull, forcing the referee to stop the fight.
