Jon Jones will not compete at UFC 200.
The UFC interim light heavyweight title holder was pulled from his main-event matchup opposite Daniel Cormier Wednesday evening following a potential anti-doping policy violation.
“The UFC organization was notified tonight that the US Anti-Doping Agency has informed Jon Jones of a potential anti-doping policy violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection on June 16, 2016,” said UFC Vice President of Athlete Health and Performance Jeff Novitsky during a press conference in Las Vegas.
The night’s previous co-main event between Brock Lesnar and Mark Hunt will now headline the UFC 200 fight card, according to an announcement made by UFC President Dana White during the press conference.
Additional information—including the nature of the flagged substance or a replacement opponent for Cormier—was not made immediately available during the press conference. But a clearly depressed Cormier said that it's hard for him to look towards the future, and that he feud with Jones has dragged him down and made him ugly.
"I have to move forward," Cormier said.
White said the organization was seeking a replacement opponent for Cormier, either at light heavyweight or heavyweight.
