USFFC 27: Official Results and Recap
The official results and recap from USFFC 27 live from Greenville, South Carolina.
There was a lot of up-and-coming talent on display at USFFC 27 on Friday night.
Tanner Saraceno and Eric Thomas capped off a great night of action in the main event. Both fighters represented rival gyms in Greenville, but it will be Saraceno who has bragging rights after Friday night.
Saraceno found his way to an early takedown and never looked back as he pounded out the stoppage midway through the first round. The win marks the first of Saraceno’s professional career, and most certainly won’t be the last time he steals the spotlight.
While the headlining bout certainly lived up to its placement, two bouts leading up to the showcase tilt also served to put some future talent on display.
Jared Scoggins--brother of UFC flyweight Justin--took another step toward competing on the biggest stage in MMA as he outworked Marcus Levester to pick up his fourth consecutive victory in the professional ranks. Although Levester was certainly a game opponent, Scoggins’ controlled the action from start to finish as he earned the unanimous decision on the judges’ scorecards.
Perhaps the most talked about fight leading up to Friday night’s event took place between Dylan Cala and Jeremiah Scott. Tension ran high between the two competitors leading up to USFFC 27, but once the action got underway it was all Cala. “The Future” lived up to his nickname as he battered Scott for two rounds until the bout was called when the Myrtle Beach native couldn’t answer the bell for the final frame.
