Kick off your weekend with a loaded pro-am card this Friday, June 3, with US Freedom Fighter Championship (USFFC) 27.
Taking place in Greenville, South Carolina's TD Convention Center, the card will feature some of the area's top talents as they reach for the next level of competition. With two title fights and a contender with UFC-pedigree in his blood, there are plenty of reasons to support the fighters live in South Carolina.
But if you can't physically make it there, don't worry—FloCombat has you covered. Just log into your FloPro account and join us for a LIVE, high-definition stream of the night's festivities.
Here's why you don't want to miss USFFC 27.
1. Amateur gold
USFFC will put its amateur bantamweight and amateur welterweight titles on the line with Joseph Solecki (3-0) and Jonathan Martin (4-2) squaring off for the 170-pound strap and Kennith Porter (3-0) facing Billy Alexander (2-1) for 135-pound glory. For many amateurs, winning gold is a sign they're ready to step into the professional ranks. Both Martin and Solecki have won titles in other regional promotions, so adding a second piece of hardware to the collection will only intensify pro talks.
A generation of professional prospects in the Southeast could very well emerge from these bouts. That's something to keep an eye on moving forward.
2. That name sounds familiar…
Scoggins. You recognize that name, right? UFC flyweight Justin Scoggins is one of the hottest prospects at 125—he dominated his last two bouts inside the UFC Octagon. He's scheduled to face long-time, top flyweight Ian McCall at UFC 201 in Atlanta.
His little brother might not be far behind.
At 21, Jared Scoggins is one of the most enticing bantamweights at the regional level in the U.S. He's 3-0 as a pro—all knockouts—and his matchup against Marcus Levester at USFFC 27 could propel him toward national recognition.
3. A top-10 prospect
Scoggins boasts some serious intrigue as a top-level prospect, but lightweight Jeremiah Scott is actually the highest-ranked fighter on the USFFC 27 card.
Ranked No. 9 in the states of South Carolina and Georgia, Scott blitzed the scene since turning pro in June 2015. After a submission loss in his pro debut, Scott pieced together the MMA game and scored two straight finishes: one knockout, and one submission.
He even took the time to throw in a Muay Thai bout, which he won via TKO, giving him three total wins from November 2015 to April 2016.
One more finish, and Scott might be ready to take the leap to the next level. Tune in Friday to see if he can continue his smashing ways or if his opponent, Dylan Cala, has other plans.
