UFC Hall of Fame member B.J. Penn's comeback from retirement has been derailed.

Penn was pulled from his planned UFC 199 bout against Cole Miller after Penn disclosed improper IV usage during a March 26 test conducted by the United States Anti-Doping Agency.

The UFC issued a statement on Penn's removal on their official website.

"The UFC organization was notified today that the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) informed BJ Penn of a potential Anti-Doping Policy violation. Penn disclosed the usage of a prohibited method - the use of an IV in excess of 50 ML in a six-hour period - during a March 25, 2016, out-of-competition sample collection. In accordance with the UFC Anti-Doping Policy, Penn has received a provisional suspension, and has been removed from his scheduled bout against Cole Miller on June 4 in Los Angeles."

The statement also said the organization is looking for a replacement opponent for Miller.

Penn last competed in July 2014, losing for a third time to Frankie Edgar. He retired after the bout and was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame last July, but decided to make a return earlier this year after joining the famed Jackson-Winklejohn gym. He was originally scheduled to face Dennis Siver before Siver withdrew due to injury.

UFC 199 takes place next weekend and is headlined by a middleweight title fight between Luke Rockhold and Michael Bisping.
