UFC 209: Alistair Overeem Crashes Lando Vannata Interview, Sings Praises
UFC heavyweight Alistair Overeem crashes an interview for Lando Vannata, praising the lightweight phenom.
Lando Vannata is ready to get groovy Saturday, March 4, at UFC 209 against David Teymur.
Coming off a massive knockout against John Makdessi at UFC 206, Vannata is looking to grow and to build, and he believes Teymur is the right guy to do it against.
"He's a good kickboxer, but he's basic, he's predictable," Vannata said during the UFC 209 media day in Las Vegas. "He's got a very basic style and just Dutch kickboxing, it's left kick, left kick, left hand. Every once in a while he throws something different, but there's not much change in rhythm. There's not much change in techniques he throws. I feel like he'll be predictable, and I'll be able to pick him apart."
While Vannata is confident in himself, another fighter joined the party to heap on some praise.
"I definitely am [looking forward to his fight]," Overeem said. "New talent. He's probably going to be the next champion, maybe in multiple weight classes."
Watch the full interview with Vannata, where he discusses his past loss to Tony Ferguson, the likelihood of some "flashy" techniques against Teymur, and more, embedded above.
