FloCombat Prospect Rankings - Heavyweight - September 2017
FloCombat Prospect Rankings - September 2017 - Heavyweight: Undefeated Canadian Adam Dyczka on top.
Rankings based off the following....
September Notes
- Previously No. 1-ranked Dontale Mayes moves to the No. 2 spot with his Aug. 29 loss.
- Adam Dyczka automatically moves to No. 1 spot.
- Dyczka is now fighting Ricardeau Francois on Sept. 8 with Oulmoudéné Najebe injured.
- Previously No. 3-ranked Kyle Noblitt has moved down to the light heavyweight division, making him ineligible for the heavyweight rankings.
- With Noblitt off the heavyweight rankings, Tanner Boser and Jeff Hughes have moved up one spot.
- Jared Vanderaa was missed in last month's list. He's been added to the No. 5 spot.
- Justin Frazier was missed in last month's list. He's been added in the No. 6 spot
- Cody Griffin was missed in last month's list. He has been added in the No. 13 spot
- Previously No. 10-ranked Allen Crowder signed with the UFC following his win over Dontale Mayes and therefore is ineligible for the FloCombat heavyweight rankings.
Dyczka automatically moves to the No. 1 spot, being the only heavyweight in the top five with an undefeated record. The 26-year-old fighter will look for his third straight win this year as he tangles with Ricardeau Francois Sept. 8.
The 25-year-old drops to the No. 2 spot following his third-round TKO loss to Allen Crowder on Aug. 29.
With Kyle Noblitt dropping to 205 pounds, Boser automatically moves up a spot on the rankings. The Canadian heavyweight is slated to compete on the ACB card in Montreal on Oct. 14 against an unnamed opponent.
Hughes cracks the top five -- and with good reason. The 29-year-old has won seven of his last eight fights with his lone loss coming against TUF 19 standout Dan Spohn. FloCombat subscribers will remember Hughes for his unanimous decision victory over Ryan Pokryfky at RFO Big Guns 24 in June.
Vanderra was mistakenly left off the list last month, and at 25 years old remains one of the most promising prospects on the heavyweight rankings. The Team Quest product's lone blemish came earlier this year to Richard Odoms, where he lost by fifth-round submission and failed to capture the vacant LFA heavyweight title. Vanderra is coming off a submission win of his own on Aug. 5, when he took out Idrees Wasi.
- North American fighters only. For example, Thiago Moises wouldn't qualify for these rankings despite training in the U.S.
- No fighters that have fought for or who are set to fight for the UFC.
- Fighters competing on Dana White's Contender Series included.
- No long-term Bellator fighters or champions. Exceptions for some preliminary fighters.
- All fighters aged 30 and under.
- Rankings based off age, record, and level of competition.
