Fabricio Werdum Done With Cain Velasquez, Wants Stipe Miocic Rematch
Former UFC heavyweight champion Fabricio Werdum continues to campaign for title shot against Stipe Miocic.
Two weeks down the road from UFC 207 and Fabricio Werdum is still not a happy man.
Werdum was booked to fight Cain Velasquez in Las Vegas, Nevada, but unfortunately Velasquez was pulled from the fight just over a week before fight night leaving the Brazilian in limbo and without an opponent for the December 31 show.
Reports came out suggesting that Werdum had been offered a short notice fight with Junior dos Santos, but with the offer coming in at late notice the two parties were unable to reach an agreement. He was subsequently left off the fight card.
Werdum has been absent from the media since, however this weekend he cornered his good friend Thiago Silva who fought and won the Absolute Championship Berkut light heavyweight title yesterday at ACB 51 in Irvine, California and Jared Torgeson.

Reporters on the scene briefly spoke with Werdum after the fight about his own future. The Brazilian informed them that for the next few weeks he will be coaching seminars and classes in both Russian and Chechnya, but that he had been thinking about his own next steps.
Speaking via a translator, Werdum addressed being pulled from UFC 207 and the Brazilian was seemingly in no mood to be thinking about getting his fight with Velasquez rearranged.
Instead, the former UFC heavyweight champion made it perfectly clear what he wanted and it is revenge that he has in mind.
"It's a tough sport and these things happen," Werdum told MMAnytt. "Cain called me personally and apologized that he couldn't fight and that he wanted to rearrange it. It is what it is and it was hard for the UFC to find another opponent at short notice. I was very disappointed.
"The fight with Cain is now done with, it's been three times now it's not happened due to injuries. It's time to put the fight on with Miocic. I get nervous every time I see him working at that fire department, I get concerned every time I see or hear it.
"It's time to put it to rest and get the fight back with Miocic."
