Khabib Nurmagomedov Says Conor McGregor Will Never Fight Him
UFC lightweight contender Khabib Nurmagomedov shares his thoughts on Conor McGregor ahead of UFC 205 in New York City on Saturday, November 12.
Khabib Nurmadomedov is a man of few words, but he certainly makes the ones he does throw out there count.
The undefeated lightweight phenom has dominated the ranks of the UFC's 155-pound division for the past four years and has hovered within striking distance of the title shot many believe he deserves.
The Dagestani smashing machine has found victory in all seven of his appearances inside the Octagon, but lengthy layoffs due to injury have cooled any hopes of a championship opportunity for Nurmagomedov thus far.
Things appeared to be taking shape in that regard when Nurmagomedov was offered a bout with champion Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205. Two weeks later, that matchup went up in smoke as the Philadelphia native signed on to face featherweight titleholder Conor McGregor in New York City on Saturday, Nov. 12.
As things would work out, the 28-year-old Russian landed a bout against Michael Johnson on the same card, and that is where his focus sits in the here and now.
Nurmagomedov isn't happy with how the title fight scenario unfolded and won't concern himself with that business. Furthermore, Nurmagomedov doesn't believe he'll ever find himself inside the Octagon with the Irish superstar.
